Why Do Foo Dogs (FuDogs) wear a bell?
I’ve tried researching it, but all I ever find is information about there origin, and meaning and meaning of the ball and the cub, but nothing on the bell around their necks, Someone please help me in this mystery.
i apologize, i’m just too lazy to google right now, but i know bells are hanged everywhere – well, not always bells, but you know… any sort of [metal] objects that will ding – in chinese culture in order to alarm in case of a ghost/spirit’s presence.
so they have 2 purposes:
1. they let you know a spirit comes;
2. their [magical] sound chases the spirit away.
put it next to the dogs’ symbol as guardians and you solved the puzzle.
